Is van life really that great?

We are now almost three weeks into full time van life and we've had some ups and downs already. We have discovered that, at our age, small problems can soon feel like major ones and we have to learn to cope differently

We have been into Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia in northern Spain. Our favourite spot being Muxia, a tiny fishing village in Galicia.

From Muxia, we went south and entered Portugal. Our intention was to just travel south to Porto then cut across into the heartland of Spain.

We enjoyed a few nice spots in Portugal including some stunning beaches but overall, we were disappointed. Perhaps we were comparing it to Spain too much? We just love Spain.

Eventually, we were pleased to get back into Spain and headed for Ciudad Rodrigo, a historic centre and interesting town. From here we went to Caceres where we had our first campsite in three weeks. An ideal time to do the laundry, clean the van and catch up with some work.

What's next?

We have no idea. That's the beauty of van life - the ability to make it up as you go along and just enjoy the freedom.
