Our latest city visit in Spain
As we settle into full time van life, we continue to tour Spain, slowly heading south for the coast. We called in at Caceres, a stunning city See our video blog here With Roman and Medieval buildings, a vibrant centre and great food, it offered everything we needed. We also found great free parking for motorhomes

Our first camp site in two weeks
We moved into Extremadura and stopped at our first camp site in two weeks. It was perfect for charging everything up, doing all the laundry and cleaning out the van. So nice and quiet was the site, we stayed two nights Click here for our video blog After this we drove to the old town of Ciudad Rodrigo Ciudad Rodrigo After this we drove to Caseres, a historic city where we spent the day exploring - video coming soon What's next? Is van life really that great?
We are now almost three weeks into full time van life and we've had some ups and downs already. We have discovered that, at our age, small problems can soon feel like major ones and we have to learn to cope differently Click here for our video blog We have been into Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia in northern Spain. Our favourite spot being Muxia, a tiny fishing village in Galicia. Muxia in Galicia Here is a video with a full run down of locations, problems and some good poin

Full time van life in Europe - Asturias & Galicia
How is full time van life for slightly older people? I think we're coping as we enter Asturias and Galicia in Northern Spain. Just how easy is it? Asturias, in northern Spain can be likened to Ireland, or so they say. It gets a bit wet and it's very green. We have been so fortunate and had nothing but sunshine. The coast is incredible. With it's jagged rocks and fierce waves, it's a haven for surfers and we have met lots of them. As we settle into full time van life, we are l

A bumpy start to full time van life
We are learning to cope with little problems before they become big ones On the 6th October, we left the UK and set off for a whole new life, living in the motorhome in Europe. After an amazing two-night crossing from Portsmouth to Santander, we arrived to a gloomy northern Spain. The good news is though, the fog lifted, the rain stopped and the sun came out, just as we arrived at our first destination. Leaving the port of Santander was a bit of a nightmare thanks to an inpro

Meet Dolly - our new motorhome
Check out our walk through video here Full time van life in Europe is going to be so much fun. Well, we took the plunge and swapped our Autosleepers Kingham for a new, bigger motorhome. The Adria Compact Supreme DL is truly amazing and will make van life so much more comfortable. The van is 1m longer than the last one and has a nicer bed arrangement, a lovely lounge/office area and a huge storage garage. On the 7th October we will take the ferry to Santander in Spain to begin

OMG What a show and look what happened
At the end of our Isle of Skye and Highlands tour we spent four days at the Motorhome Show in Shepton Mallet. There was so much to do and thousands of motorhomes and campervans on site. We took our Autosleeper Kingham with a view to buying a few accessories to give us more space. Watch the video and see the results Sandra drove a motorhome for the first time on the driving course and we met so many fellow campers ..... what an amazing weekend

Disappointed in Blackpool
Well ,after a wonderful few weeks in the Isle of Skye and the Highlands, we started to go south making lots of stops along the way. We arrived in Blackpool where the council really do look after campervans. With lots of special parking that includes overnight, it's a great option and a reasonable price. It was illumination time so we thought we could relive our childhood memories. Just what did we think? See the video here From Blackpool we went on to Liverpool before spendin

What a trip
Well, we did it. We have finally completed our tour of the Scottish Highlands, including the famous NC500. We've done over 1,500 miles in total on this trip and it's been amazing. It's been a great first step into full time van life. It's been three weeks and an amazing test of everything including the van and our patience. See our video here. We're not done yet though. From here we are travelling south to the lake district then Blackpool and Liverpool before finishing at the

Before we leave the UK
We have just a few weeks left now before we leave the UK for full time van life and the adventure of a lifetime. We have spent the last few weeks making short trips around the south of England and getting used to the van. Just before we leave for Spain, we thought we'd squeeze in another trip, another tick off our bucket list. The NC500 is a well known trip around the Highlands of Scotland and we've never been higher than Edinburgh before. We're all loaded up ready to go and
